TEAM VALUES AND ETHOS

A welcoming studio dedicated to movement, mindfulness, and a community for all

At Heritage Pilates, our ethos is rooted in movement with meaning. We believe in strengthening the body, supporting the mind, and nurturing the whole person through thoughtful, intelligent Pilates practice. Whether on the Reformer or the mat, every class is designed to build strength, length, balance, and confidence in a way that feels personal, supportive, and sustainable.

We take a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising that true health is shaped by more than exercise alone. Our studio is a calm, welcoming space where people can reconnect with themselves, breathe deeply, and move with purpose.

Our commitment to green values runs through the way we operate — choosing eco‑friendly materials, reducing waste, and making conscious decisions that respect the environment and our community.

Above all, we believe in giving back. Heritage Pilates is built on connection, kindness, and community spirit. Through outreach, partnerships, and accessible wellbeing initiatives, we aim to make movement available to everyone and contribute positively to the place we call home.

Beyond the studio, we believe in giving back, as we commence building community partnerships, wellbeing initiatives, and outreach programmes that we will fundraise for, we will aim to make movement accessible to all and support the health of our wider community.

EMMA HODSON -
INSTRUCTOR / OWNER

I came to Pilates as I was struggling with back pain after having children, and decided to give it a try. I was amazed when just six weeks of classes set me free from pain.

Years of being a dedicated class attendee, seeing the fantastic benefits Pilates gave me, inspired me to teach, leading me to train with the highly respected STOTT Pilates alongside Further classical Reformer and Rehab level 4.

Ever since, it has been my joy to teach and enable others to reap the benefits of Pilates. I tailor classes to accommodate all flexibility and strength levels and make modifications for back, joint, and other issues.

I extremely proud to be the joint owner of Heritage Pilates where I can continue to welcome, teach and help others feel supported in not only in their journey with Pilates but to feel confident in their body and part of our community.

Driven by that experience, Rae began her instructor journey and is now signed off to teach Mat Pilates and Reformer. Alongside her Pilates training, she is also a certified Menopause and Life Coach, allowing her to support clients through every stage of life with empathy, knowledge, and a truly holistic approach.
